Make a Sugar Scrub!Wednesday, February 11, 2009
KLEAN Quickie! Make your own sugar scrub! In this current economically challenged time, we felt it necessary to help you weather the storm. Some people aren't able to keep personal care products on the top of the shopping list, so here's a basic recipe for making your own sugar scrub at home: * 1 cup of table sugar or coarse brown sugar. * 1/3 cup olive oil, safflower oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed, sesame or vegetable glycerin...enough to your liking. * your favorite essential oil or possibly vanilla extract * optional: poppy seeds or sesame seeds Pour all ingredients into a bowl and mix. When everything is incorporated, you are done! Keep in a sealed container. Avoid getting water in the scrub container. You don't want it growing any little buggers! Have fun and watch the shower floor, it may become slippery! Don't Let Winter Dry-Out Your Skin!!Saturday, January 10, 2009
Don't Let The Cold Weather Dry Out Your Skin!
Eight ways to maintain your skin during cold weather months... During the winter I always feel like I can't get my skin enough moisture. I did a little research and found a few tips that could help you too! * Take fewer & shorter showers or baths. * Keep water luke warm, not hot. * Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Exfoliate. Then your moisturizer will penetrate your skin much more efficiently! * After you exit the shower, pat dry and moisturize your skin immediately. * Don't use soap with sulfates, they will dry out your skin. * Don't exist with the furnace on high 24/7. Lower the temp and put on a sweater. The heat from the heater will dry out your skin. (plus it will save on your power bill) * Use a humidifier. It will keep moisture in the air. * If you are dehydrated, drink water. If you would like to read more about taking care of your skin, see this article at ABOUT.com |
